Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
