The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun is covered, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 And when the camels big with young are abandoned, 4 When the wild beasts are herded together (in the human habitations); 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. (Other angels obey angel Jibreel). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
