'Lord, open my breast,' said Moses, 25 And make my affair easy to me, 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 And appoint for me a minister from my family - 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 And let him share my task 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 And much remember Thee. 34 "Verily! You are of us Ever a Well-Seer." 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, 37 Recall, when We indicated to your mother through inspiration: 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 I have chosen you for My service. 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 But speak unto him in a mild manner, so that he might bethink himself or [at least] be filled with apprehension. 44 They (Moses and Aaron) said: "Our Lord! We fear lest he hasten with insolence against us, or lest he transgress all bounds." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 Moses said: "Its knowledge is with my Lord, recorded in the Book. My Lord does not err, nor does He forget." 52 [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
