The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 When their brother Noah said to them: "Will you not take heed? 106 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 107 fear God, and obey me. 108 For this I ask of you no wage, for my wage falls only on the Lord of the Worlds. 109 Have fear of God and obey me." 110 ۞ They replied: 'Are we to believe you whom the lowliest follow' 111 He said: "And what knowledge have I of what they used to do? 112 “Indeed their account is only upon my Lord, if you perceive.” 113 It is not for me to repel those who choose to believe. 114 I am only a plain warner." 115 They said: "If thou desist not, O Noah! thou shalt be stoned (to death)." 116 He said: "My Lord! My people have branded me a liar. 117 Therefore judge Thou between me and them with a (just) judgment, and deliver me and those who are with me of the believers. 118 We saved him and those who were with him in the laden ship, 119 Thereafter We drowned those who remained behind. 120 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 121 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 122
