The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 and eyes will be humbly cast down. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.'" 19 So he showed him the mighty sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 and gathered his people together 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
