The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 to be followed by further [convulsions], 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely it will need but one shout, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Surely, in this there is a lesson for he that fears! 26
