No, by the moon! 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 Verily it is one of the greatest woes. 35 A warning unto humankind 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Every soul will be in captivity for its deeds 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens they will question 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 like frightened donkeys 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Yes indeed, this is an advice. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
