The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the morning brightness 1 and the brooding night! 2 Thy Lord has neither forsaken thee nor hates thee 3 What is to come is better for you than what has gone before; 4 Your Lord will soon grant you sufficient favors to please you. 5 Did He not find you an orphan and give you shelter? 6 And He found you unaware (of the Quran, its legal laws, and Prophethood, etc.) and guided you? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, 9 nor drive away the one who asks. 10 But the bounty of the Lord - rehearse and proclaim! 11
True are the words of God the Almighty.
