And Aaron indeed had told them beforehand: O my people! Ye are but being seduced therewith, for lo! your Lord is the Beneficent, so follow me and obey my order. 90 But they answered: "By no means shall we cease to worship it until Moses returns to us." 91 But (Moses) said: "O Aaron, when you saw that they had gone astray, what hindered you 92 "That you followed me not (according to my advice to you)? Have you then disobeyed my order?" 93 (Aaron) replied: "O son of my mother! Seize (me) not by my beard nor by (the hair of) my head! Truly I feared lest thou shouldst say, 'Thou has caused a division among the children of Israel, and thou didst not respect my word!'" 94 He said: What was then your object, O Samiri? 95 He said, "I perceived what they did not see. So I took a handful [of dust] from the footprint of the Messenger and threw it in [the calf]. That is what my inner self prompted me to do." 96 He said: Begone then, surely for you it will be in this life to say, Touch (me) not; and surely there is a threat for you, which shall not be made to fail to you, and look at your god to whose worship you kept (so long); we will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter it a (wide) scattering in the sea. 97 “Your God is only Allah – other than for Whom there is no worship; His knowledge encompasses all things.” 98 Thus We relate to you (O Muhammad SAW) some information of what happened before. And indeed We have given you from Us a Reminder (this Quran). 99 Whoever disregards (the Quran) will be heavily burdened with sin on the Day of Judgment 100 therein abiding forever; how evil upon the Day of Resurrection that burden for them! 101 The day the trumpet blast is sounded We shall raise the sinners blind, 102 Mutterin among themselves: ye tarried not save ten days. 103 We know very well what they will say, when the best among them in knowledge and wisdom will say: "You stayed no longer than a day!" 104
