The unbelieving assembly of his nation, who belied the encounter of the Everlasting Life, and on whom We had bestowed ease in this life, said: 'This is but a human like yourselves; he eats of what you eat and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Does he promise you that when you are dead and are reduced to dust and bones, you will be brought forth to life? 35 ۞ After, after with that which you are promised! 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be resurrected. 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 He said, "My Lord, support me because they have denied me." 39 He said: In a little while they will most certainly be repenting. 40 And the Cry seized them justly, and We made them as scum; so away with the people of the evildoers! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Thereafter We sent Our apostles, successively. So oft as there came unto a community their apostle, they belied him, so We made them follow one another, and We made them bywords; so away with a people who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 So they belied them, and they were among the destroyed. 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
