Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 taking whatsoever their Lord has given them; they were good-doers before that. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
