So did you observe him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So O listener! Which favour of your Lord will you doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
