And Yunus was most surely of the apostles. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 And then they cast lots, and he was the one who lost; 141 The fish swallowed him up and he deserved (all this). 142 And had he not been of those who hallow Him, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ But We cast him forth on the naked shore while he was sick, 145 And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. 146 And We sent him to a hundred thousand (folk) or more 147 and they believed; so We gave them enjoyment for a while. 148 Therefore ask them (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), whether the daughters are for your Lord and the sons for them! 149 Or created We the angels females while they were present? 150 Unquestionably, it is out of their [invented] falsehood that they say, 151 'God has begotten?' They are truly liars. 152 Hath He chosen daughters above sons? 153 What is the matter with you that you make such strange judgements? 154 What, and will you not remember? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels; and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits). 158 Purity is to Allah from the matters they fabricate. 159 Except His chosen creatures who do not. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 we are the rangers, 165 And we are they who exalt (Allah)' 166 What, would they then say: 167 "If we had had with us a Book like that of the people of old, 168 "We would have indeed been the chosen slaves of Allah (true believers of Islamic Monotheism)!" 169 But they disbelieved in it, so they are going to know. 170 And indeed Our Word has already gone forth for Our bondmen who were sent. 171 Most surely they shall be the assisted ones 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 (Muhammad), stay away from them for a while 174 And watch, for they will (soon) see. 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 When it comes down on their plains, it will be an evil dawn for those who had been warned. 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch; they will come to know soon. 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 and praise be to God, the Lord of all the Worlds. 182
