The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So indeed I call to witness the evening twilight, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
