The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 I am for you an honest Messenger. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 “What! Among all the creatures, you commit the immoral acts with men?” 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said: "If you do not desist, O Lot, you will be expelled (from the city)." 167 He said, "I am one of those who abhors your ways. 168 My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do." 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Most Compassionate. 175
