Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 We sought to reach heaven, but found it filled with strong guards and flames -- 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 But those who are iniquitous will be fuel for Hell. 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And when the bondman of Allah stood calling upon Him, they well nigh pressed on him stifling. 19
