Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

The emulous desire of abundance engrosseth you, 1 Till you reach the grave. 2 Nay, but ye will come to know! 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 Nay, would that you knew with certainty of knowledge (what your attitude will lead to, you would never have acted the way you do). 5 Ye shall certainly see Hell-Fire! 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 On that Day, you shall be questioned about the pleasures. 8
