The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We gave them Our signs, but from them they were turning away. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 So the rumbling overtook them in the morning; 83 And that which they were wont to count as gain availed them not. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between the two in accordance with the requirements of truth and wisdom. The Hour is surely coming. So overlook [their faults] with gracious forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Like (those) We had sent to those schismatics who slandered their Books 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 And We already know that your breast is constrained by what they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
