And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 (a revelation) in clear Arabic language, 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it (this Quran) unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 In this wise have We made way for it into the hearts of the culprits. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they then ask for Our Penalty to be hastened on? 204 Beholdest thou? if We let them enjoy for years. 205 And then there cometh unto them that which they had been promised. 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 For reminder, for We never were oppressors. 209 The devils did not bring it down: 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and be meek to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 Put thy trust in the All-mighty, the All-compassionate 217 who sees thee when thou standest 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the Poets,- It is those straying in Evil, who follow them: 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 preaching what they do not practice. 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
