Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 your ideas are confused. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
