Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
