The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 By the angels hastening, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 They say: "Then this returning will be a dead loss." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say to him, 'Would you [be willing to] purify yourself 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 Then he turned back striving. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Truly there is a lesson in this for those who fear (the consequences). 26
