The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Who, when they take a measure from people, take in full. 2 Whilst when they measure or weigh for them, give less. 3 Do not these think that they shall be raised again 4 On a Mighty Day, 5 A Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay, but the record of the vile is in Sijjin - 7 And what could make thee conceive what that that mode inescapable will be? 8 A book inscribed. 9 Ah the woe that day for those who deny, 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 for, none gives the lie to it but such as are wont to transgress against all that is [and are] immersed in sin: 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut out. 15 Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. 16 Then it shall be said to them, 'This is that you cried lies to.' 17 Surely the ledger of the pious will be in 'Illiyun (heights above the heights). 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 Truly the Righteous will be in Bliss: 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will find in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And mixed with water of Tasnim, 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 when they passed by them they winked, 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 while reclining on couches and reviewing (the bounties given to them). 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
