He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 Loosen the knot in my tongue, 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 Appoint for me a minister from my family 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 and let him share my task 32 So that we should glorify Thee much, 33 And may make mention of Thee oft. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 "'Put him into a chest, then cast it into the river. The river will cast it on to the bank, and there he shall be taken up by an enemy of Mine and his.' I showered My love on you so that you might be reared under My watchful eye. 39 “When your sister went, then said, ‘Shall I show you the people who may nurse him?’ And We brought you back to your mother in order to soothe her eyes and that she may not grieve; and you killed a man, so We freed you from sorrow, and tested you to the maximum; you therefore stayed for several years among the people of Madyan; then you came (here) at an appointed time, O Moosa.” 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go, thou and thy brother, with My tokens, and be not faint in remembrance of Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has become insolent. 43 yet speak gently to him, that haply he may be mindful, or perchance fear.' 44 'O our Lord,' said Moses and Aaron, 'truly we fear he may exceed against us, or wax insolent.' 45 [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. 46 So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. 47 'Truly, it has been revealed to us that the torment will be for him who denies [believes not in the Oneness of Allah, and in His Messengers, etc.], and turns away.'(from the truth and obedience of Allah)" 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 He said: Then what is the state of the former generations? 51 He said: The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a Record. My Lord neither erreth nor forgetteth, 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
