The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
There surely came over man a period of time when he was a thing not worth mentioning. 1 Verily We! We created man from a sperm of mixtures, that We might prove him, wherefore We made him hearing, seeing. 2 Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or be he ungrateful. 3 We have prepared chains, shackles, and flaming fire (for the disbelievers). 4 The virtuous ones will drink from a cup containing camphor 5 a fountain at which the worshipers of Allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; 6 They fulfill vows and fear a day the evil of which shall be spreading far and wide. 7 And they feed, for the love of Allah, the indigent, the orphan, and the captive,- 8 Saying: we feed you only for the sake of Allah; we desire not from you any recompense or thanks. 9 we fear from our Lord a Day that shall be long and distressful.” 10 So Allah saved them from the evil of that Day, and gave them Nadratan (a light of beauty) and joy. 11 and will reward them for all their patience in adversity with a garden [of bliss] and with [garments of] silk. 12 Reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. 13 And close down upon them (shall be) its shadows, and its fruits shall be made near (to them), being easy to reach. 14 and there shall be passed around them vessels of silver and goblets of crystal, 15 crystal of silver that they have measured -- very exactly. 16 They will drink cups containing (soft flowing) sparkling water 17 [From] a fountain within Paradise named Salsabeel. 18 ۞ They will be served by immortal youths who look like scattered pearls. 19 When you see them, you see bliss, and a great Kingdom. 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 This will be their reward and their efforts will be appreciated. 22
