Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 Lo! presently ye shall know. 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Nay, if you could but understand [it] with an understanding [born] of certainty, 5 You will be shown hell 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
