Thus did We deliver the Children of Israel from the humiliating chastisement, 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 and bestowed upon them the Signs wherein lay an evident test for them. 33 Even then they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 "Then bring back our fore-fathers, if you speak the truth!" 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We did not create them except in Truth. But most of them do not know. 39 Indeed the Day of Decision is the appointment for all of them. 40 The Day when Maulan (a near relative) cannot avail Maulan (a near relative) in aught, and no help can they receive, 41 except those on whom Allah will have mercy. He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 42
