The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Taught the Quran. 2 Created man, 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and moon rotate in a predestined orbit. 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Out of these two [bodies of water] come forth pearls, both great and small. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
