Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And every time I called them that You may forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their garments, and became wayward, and behaved with downright insolence. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 increase your wealth and sons; and grant you gardens and waterways. 12 What is the matter with you, [that you fear not Allah (His punishment), and] you hope not for reward (from Allah or you believe not in His Oneness). 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 See you not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth. 17 "'And in the End He will return you into the (earth), and raise you forth (again at the Resurrection)? 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
