The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day in splendour 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Indeed, your efforts are diverse. 4 Yet he who gives to others and has fear, 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 And as for him who stinteth and is heedless, 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall surely ease him to the Hardship; 10 and what will his wealth avail him when he goes down [to his grave]? 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And indeed the Hereafter and this world both belong to Us. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None except the most wicked will enter it. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Those who spend their wealth for increase in self-purification, 18 not as payment for any favours that he received, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
