Al-Imraan 13 of 20
Remember when you set forth in the morning from your house assigning the faithful positions for the battle, God heard everything and knew all. 121 And recall when two groups from among you were inclined to flag although Allah was their protector; it is in Allah that the believers should put their trust. 122 And assuredly Allah had succoured you at Badr while ye were humble. Wherefore fear Allah that haply ye may return thanks. 123 When you said to the believers: 'Is it not enough for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down upon you? 124 Rather, if you have patience and are cautious, and they suddenly come against you, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand marked angels' 125 Allah made it but a message of hope for you, and an assurance to your hearts: (in any case) there is no help except from Allah. The Exalted, the Wise: 126 So He may cut off a part of the disbelievers, or disgrace them so that they return unsuccessful. 127 [And] it is in no wise for thee [O Prophet] to decide whether He shall accept their repentance or chastise them - for, behold, they are but wrongdoers, 128 To God belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth: He may pardon whom He please and punish whom He will. Yet God is forgiving and kind. 129
