The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the mount 1 and the Book inscribed 2 on fine parchment; 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 the torment of your Lord will inevitably take place 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 on the Day when the skies are convulsed, 9 and the mountains shudder and shake. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Those who in wading sport themselves. 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 “This is the fire, which you used to deny!” 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 Taste you therein its heat, and whether you are patient of it or impatient of it, it is all the same. You are only being requited for what you used to do. 16 [But,] verily, the God-conscious will find themselves [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 They will be told, "Eat and drink to your heart's delight for what you have done". 19 reclining on couches arranged in rows. And We shall wed them to fair maidens with large beautiful eyes. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 In it, they accept cups from each other, in which is neither any lewdness nor any sin. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will advance to each other, engaging in mutual enquiry. 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 God has been gracious to us and has saved us from the torment of Hell's intense heat -- 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
