The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who dive and drag, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Go to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), verily, he has transgressed all bounds (in crimes, sins, polytheism, disbelief, etc.). 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then turned he away in haste, 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 you pay attention 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
