A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif Lam Mim Suad. 1 A book has been revealed to you, (Muhammad). You should not hesitate to convey its warning and its good advice to the believers. 2 "Follow what has been sent down unto you by your Sustainer, and follow no masters other than Him. How seldom do you keep this in mind! 3 And how many a town that We destroyed, so Our punishment came to it by night or while they slept at midday. 4 When (thus) Our punishment took them, no cry did they utter but this: "Indeed we did wrong." 5 We will question those to whom Our Message was sent, as We shall question the Messengers. 6 Then most certainly We will relate to them with knowledge, and We were not absent. 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 and those whose good deeds are light [in the balance] will be the ones who have lost themselves because they wrongfully rejected Our signs. 9 And indeed We established you in the earth and in it created for you the means of livelihood; very little thanks do you offer! 10
