The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that blow gently, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 There will follow it the subsequent [one]. 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And thereupon he [went to Pharaoh and] made him aware of the great wonder [of God's grace]. 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
