The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ [The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away. 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” 3 He saith: My Lord knoweth what is spoken in the heaven and the earth. He is the Hearer, the Knower. 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 The people of the town whom We had destroyed also had no faith. Will these people then believe in God? 6 And We sent none before thee, but men to whom We made revelation -- question the People of the Remembrance, if you do not know -- 7 And We did not make them bodies not eating the food, and they were not to abide (forever). 8 Then We were true to the promise, We saved them together with those whom We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 We have sent a Book, (the Quran), which is an honor for you. Will you then not understand? 10
