S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. By the Quran, full of admonition! 1 Verily those who disbelieve are in vainglory and schism. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them. They called: 'The time is neither of escape, nor safety' 3 And they (Arab pagans) wonder that a warner (Prophet Muhammad SAW) has come to them from among themselves! And the disbelievers say: "This (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is a sorcerer, a liar. 4 Has he made the gods one single God? This is truly astounding.” 5 The chiefs among them departed saying: go, and persevere in your gods; verily this is a thing designed. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 "What! has the Message been sent to him - (Of all persons) among us?"... but they are in doubt concerning My (Own) Message! Nay, they have not yet tasted My Punishment! 8 Or have they the treasures of the Mercy of your Lord, the All-Mighty, the Real Bestower? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 They will be one more army vanquished among the many routed hordes. 11 Before them the people of Noah denied the truth, as did the 'Ad and Pharaoh of the Stakes, 12 and [the tribe of] Thamud, and the people of Lot, and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan]: they all were leagued together, [as it were, in their unbelief:] 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
