Al-Najm 3 of 3
(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 and in the end he will be repaid for it in full; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 And that it is He Who causeth to laugh and causeth to weep. 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So they were covered with whatever covered them? 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
