Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the loosed ones successively 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 by the scatterers scattering 3 And by the Verses (of the Quran) that separate the right from the wrong. 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder, 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 the living and the dead? 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 that Day on which they will not [be able to] utter a word, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 This is the day of decision: We have gathered you and those of yore. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
