Man is prone to say: "Shall I be raised to life after I die?" 66 Remembereth not man that We created him afore when he was not aught? 67 So, by thy Lord, without doubt, We shall gather them together, and (also) the Evil Ones (with them); then shall We bring them forth on their knees round about Hell; 68 Then We will separate from every group those who were strongly rebellious against the Beneficent God. 69 Then, verily, We know best those who are most worthy of being burnt therein. 70 There is not one of you but shall approach it. That is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord. 71 We shall then rescue the pious – and leave the unjust in it, fallen on their knees. 72 When Our clear revelations are recited to those who deny the Truth they are wont to say to those who have faith: "Which of the two groups has a better status and whose assemblies are grander?" 73 And how many a generation have We destroyed before these, who were goodlier in goods and outward appearance? 74 Say: "Ar-Rahman extends the life of those who are astray until they come to realise what had been promised them was either (physical) affliction or (the terror) of Resurrection. Then will they know who is worse in position, and who is weak in supporters. 75 And God endows those who avail themselves of [His] guidance with an ever-deeper consciousness of the right way; and good deeds, the fruit whereof endures forever, are, in thy Sustainer's sight, of far greater merit [than any worldly goods,] and yield far better returns. 76 Have you seen he who disbelieves Our verses and yet says: 'I shall surely be given wealth and children' 77 Has he gained knowledge of the Unseen? Or taken a covenant with the Merciful? 78 By no means! We shall write down that which he saith; and We shall lengthen for him of the torment a length. 79 And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone. 80 They have taken other deities besides God, so that they may be a source of strength for them. 81 In fact, they can have no honor; their gods will renounce their worship of idols and will turn against them. 82
