Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 the Judgement will surely come to pass -- 6 by the heaven full of tracks, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 [But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 They assigned a share of their property for the needy and the destitute. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
