The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and by [the clouds] that swim serenely and 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 [HENCE, think of] the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world,] 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him in exemplary punishment for the last and the first [transgression]. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
