And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 We have come to thee with the truth, and assuredly we speak truly. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 And guard against (the punishment of) Allah and do not put me to shame. 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: Here are my daughters, if ye must be doing (so). 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Most surely there is a sign in this for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
