We swear that We have created the human being and We know what his soul whispers to him. We are closer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). 18 And the agony of death cometh in truth. (And it is said unto him): This is that which thou wast wont to shun. 19 And the trumpet blast will sound: It would be the Day of Doom. 20 And every soul will come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 [Allah will say], "Throw into Hell every obstinate disbeliever, 24 Hinderer of good, trespasser, doubter 25 Who set up with Allah another god. So cast him ye twain into the torment severe. 26 ۞ His comrade saith: Our Lord! I did not cause him to rebel, but he was (himself) far gone in error. 27 He shall say, 'Dispute not before Me! For I sent you beforehand -- the threat. 28 There is no changing of My word, nor am I unjust to My creatures." 29
