Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds,] 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: “When will the Day of Judgement be?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Lo! those who keep from evil will dwell amid gardens and watersprings, 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
