The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He hath created man. 3 Taught him the mode of expression. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 But observe the measure strictly, nor fall short thereof. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 21 There come forth from the twain the pearl and the coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
