Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
