He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 when the blind came to him. 2 How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, 3 Or be reminded and the remembrance would benefit him? 4 As for him who thinketh himself independent, 5 To him dost thou attend; 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as for him who cometh unto thee running, 8 And he fears, 9 From him will you divert yourself. 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So let him who pleases mind it. 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 Exalted and holy, 14 In the hands of scribes 15 Noble and righteous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what thing doth He create him? 18 From Nutfah (male and female semen drops) He created him, and then set him in due proportion; 19 He makes his path easy for him. 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 and cleaved the earth, cleaving it asunder; 26 and therein made the grains to grow 27 and vines and edible plants, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 And fruits and grasses: 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 wife and sons, 36 every man that day shall have business to suffice him. 37 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 38 laughing and joyful, 39 Some faces on that Day shall be dust-ridden, 40 and covered by darkness. 41 Those! they are the infidels, the ungodly. 42
