The people of Aykah also gave the lie to the Messengers. 176 When Shu'aib said to them: "Will you not take heed? 177 I am a trustworthy Messengers. 178 I ask of you no wage for this; 179 "And no reward whatever do I ask of you for it: my reward rests with none but the Sustainer of all the worlds. 180 ۞ Give full measure, and cause no loss to others. 181 and [in all your dealings] weigh with a true balance, 182 and do not deprive people of what is rightfully theirs; and do not act wickedly on earth by spreading corruption, 183 Fear Him who created you, and the generations of the ancients.' 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 "Thou art no more than a mortal like us, and indeed we think thou art a liar! 186 Then drop down on us lumps from heaven, if thou art one of the truthful.' 187 He said: 'My Lord knows what you are doing' 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
