Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [And will be told], "Taste your torment. This is that for which you were impatient." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
