And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 while We had brought the jinn into being before out of blazing fire. 27 And lo! Thy Sustainer said unto the angels: "Behold, I am about to create mortal man out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted; 28 When I have shaped him, and breathed My spirit in him, fall you down, bowing before him!' 29 All the angels prostrated themselves, 30 But Iblis did not; he refused to be with the prostrates. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud." 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 for an appointed time." 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
